Unity of All Religions
Universal Love
Universal Love
"Kabir stands in the marketplace, wishing well for all. Neither friendship with anyone, nor enmity with anyone."
This doha emphasizes universal love and neutrality towards all beings, advocating for a heart free from attachment and aversion.
Equality
"Do not ask about the caste of a saint, ask about their knowledge. Value the sword, let the sheath remain."
This teaching emphasizes that one should judge a person by their wisdom and character, not by their birth or social status.
Inner Divinity
"Where do you search for me, O devotee? I am right beside you. Not in pilgrimages, not in idols, not in solitary places."
God resides within every being and can be found through inner contemplation rather than external rituals.
Spiritual Liberation
"Neither illusion died nor the mind died, though the body perished. Desires and cravings did not die, says servant Kabir."
True spiritual death involves the dissolution of ego, desires, and illusions, not merely physical death.
Divine Protection
"Kabir, your hut is near the butchers lane. Those who act will face consequences, why are you sad?"
One should not worry about external circumstances but focus on righteous action and divine remembrance.
Guru's Importance
"Both Guru and God stand before me, whose feet should I touch? I sacrifice myself to the Guru, who introduced me to God."
The Guru is revered above even God because it is through the Guru that one realizes the divine.
"The whole world is happy, eating and sleeping. Only servant Kabir is sad, staying awake and weeping."
This reflects the spiritual seeker's constant awareness of the divine and the pain of separation from the ultimate truth.
